The municipality of Chiusa di Pesio is found in the southern part of the Province of Cuneo, (Granda province) about 15 Km from Cuneo, at the beginning of the homonymous valley crossed by Pesio Creek with all its length. The town boasts a history of a thousand years, from the small village where proof goes back to the Iron Age.
It is a municipality whose territory is mainly mountainous, departing from the slightly flatter part of the town valley, following Pesio Creek while passing the fractions Vigna, and San Bartolomeo to the magnificent Certosa dating back to 1173, puts itself in a spectacular frame comprised of the Alps in the massive Conca del Marguareis it is one of the most important speleological sites both Italian and international.
